Alecia joined the firm as an associate in September 2004 to practice Social Security Disability and personal injury law. Born and raised in Rochester, New York, Alecia received her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from SUNY Geneseo. She obtained her Juris Doctor degree at the University of Buffalo Law School in 1987. After a brief time in civil practice, Alecia joined the Monroe County District Attorney's office in May of 1988 where she remained for 16 years.
Over the course of her career as an Assistant District Attorney, Alecia has handled hundreds of cases and has prosecuted over 60 felony trials in the Major Felony and Domestic Violence bureaus. For the last 6 years with the Monroe County District Attorney's Office, Alecia held the title of Deputy Chief of the Local Courts. Alecia was responsible for training and supervising approximately 70 new Assistant District Attorneys. She has been a frequent lecturer on all aspects of trial practice for the New York Prosecutors Training Institute.
Alecia is married to Dana Elston. They have 2 daughters, Alexis and Cassandra. When she’s not busy running around with her girls, Alecia enjoys reading, writing poetry and doing jigsaw puzzles. One look at her office and you can tell she is an avid cat lover.
Alecia’s greatest inspiration are her parents, Gene and Carol LaCapruccia, who have been together over 50 years and have been there for her and her three sisters every step of the way. My family is the greatest and I can't imagine living my life without them.
